Dear Mary Ann, Lynn and David,
I think that you all know how much we loved and revered your father. We owe so much of our quality of life as a family to him.
First of all, he trusted Doug and took him on as a graduate student. Doug was just working on a masters, then, but Wilmer encouraged Doug to change and make it a doctorate. That in itself changed our lives
Then he was instrumental in suggesting that Doug apply for the job at the Museum and I am sure in his getting the job. And if you think about it, Wilmer was instrumental in getting money to build the Museum and pushing through its construction. Therefore, there was a place for Doug to make his life's work. As you can see we owe so much to your father.
He co-authored the "Snakes of Utah" with Doug and encouraged him to write it and helped with the research for it.
He was always kind and considerate or me. When Doug was busy finishing up his dissertation, I had already typed it about 3 times on our little portable typewriter. I had a new baby and was very busy. Wilmer took it into his hands and found a typist for the final draft and saved me. I will always appreciate that kindness on his part.
Our children are very much into the sciences and now as the grandchildren visit, we always go the the Museum. Wilmer has left a great legacy for our family.
I am so sorry that I couldn't attend his funeral. Please feel our love and great admiration for you father.
Sincerely, Anne Cox and Children

Dear MaryAnn and family,
We were sad to read of the passing of your wonderful father. He was such a great man and made a difference in so many lives. We know you will miss him but look forward to the day that you will see him and your mother again. May the Lord bless and comfort you during this tender time. We love you.
