This is a belated post of our memory of the great Mr George Diehl, as he became one of our better friends along with selling us our first house. His mother and father lived in our first residence. When they passed I don't think George had planned on coming back to this little river town of Fulton. But when he made us the deal, he also initiated a great friendship whether he liked us or not!! haha. My family was close to George and his children as they spent summers visiting the home in Fulton. I encountered his daughter Martha one summer as we spent some enjoyable moments learning about each other's "bad habits" as teenagers. I remember his son Ron and daughter Tina when they visited, but never met Paul. We hope all the family is well after George's passing and wished we had made that trip to his cabin in the wilderness to enjoy one of those "bloody mary's" he spoke about so tastefully.
Rest in peace our friend as we lost our contact, but know you are residing with the Angels & our fond memories!!

Mayor Diehl was an outstanding person.
He was intelligent, thoughtful, understanding, caring and open minded. He made the world a better place.
May his memory be eternal!
Sincerely,
George and Mary Ann Mantes

I will miss our visits dearly. George was brilliant, wise, funny and a beautiful soul. I am so grateful he was my patient for these past 10 years. I always looked forward to his Christmas cards and the pictures of him embracing life. My deepest sympathies to Paul and all of George's family.

This incredible man has such an extraordinary legacy. When I last saw him just over a year ago, he still had the sharpest mind and best sense of humor. My deepest sympathy to his family.
