Beverly H. Petersen-Child, 93, of Murray, Utah passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Canyon Creek Assisted Living in Midvale, Utah.
She was born April 9, 1920 to Louis (Whitey) Hale and Lois Allred Hale in Afton, Wyoming. Beverly was the only daughter in a family of 9 children, 3 older brothers and 5 younger. She was raised on a ranch west of Afton and enjoyed spending time with her mother cooking and cleaning for the family of boys.
She married Marvin Petersen January 4, 1937 in Afton, later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They owned a ranch and farm in Grover, Wyoming and moved to Murray in 1955. Beverly worked for Cottonwood Hospital for many years and, upon retirement, volunteered at the hospital as a Pink Lady. Marvin passed away in 1981.
Beverly moved to St. George, Utah in 1992 to enjoy the warmer climate. She married Dean Child, September 10, 1993 in the Jordan River LDS Temple. Dean passed away in 2010.
Beverly was a strong and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
