Carl DeLoy "Pete" Johnsen
April 13, 1926 ~ April 14, 2014
Carl DeLoy "Pete" Johnsen passed away April 14, having just celebrated his 88th birthday surrounded by family.
Born to Anne Middleton and Carl William Johnsen April 13, 1926. Carl grew up in St. George, and served in the Navy during World War II at age 17. He earned his Associates Degree at Dixie College where he met and married his sweetheart, Jacqueline Nielsen in the St. George Temple December 30, 1950. They moved to Salt Lake City where he worked at Hill Air Force Base for 37 years. The couple served an LDS Mission to India in 1993. He was a faithful Priesthood holder and served in numerous church callings. He served at the Jordan River Temple as an Ordinance Worker for 20 years.
Carl leaves behind his beloved wife Jackie, of 63 years, his 5 children, 12 grandchildren, and 7 1/2 great-grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Saturday April 19th at 11 am at Valley Park 5th Ward, 2603 West 4700 South, Salt Lake City UT. Interment will be at Manti, UT.
