Clara Hindley Obituary

1914 ~ 2011
Clara N Hindley passed away in her Salt Lake home on September 19, 2011. She was born on July 15, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Jacob Andreas Niederhauser of Winigen, Switzerland and Emilie Wiess of Furtwangen, Germany.
Clara was the first born in the new country after her family immigrated to the United States in 1912. She spent her growing up years in the Forest Dale area of Salt Lake and graduated from Granite High School. She married her sweetheart, Golden Reed Hindley of Magrath, Alberta, Canada on May 28, 1944. They enjoyed 46 years together before his death on February 23, 1990.
Clara loved her family. Her siblings were Frieda (France) Lambert, Ernest "Ernie" (Eva), Helaman "Heil" (Gladys), Martha who passed away as an infant, Ether "Ed" (Florence), John "Johnny" (Elaine). She also loved and was proud of her 13 nieces and nephews. She and Reed enjoyed and participated in every family function.
Clara was an elegant lady that was very active, loved life and was extremely independent. As a professional she was a dental hygienist. Those that knew her will remember her for her activity in the YWCA, a swimming instructor, and as a very competitive Bridge player. She and Reed lived their married life in the Monument Park area of Salt Lake and loved to travel together. Clara was also a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The family would like to thank Hillary Lowe with Aspire Hospice, the staff of Home Option Personal Care, and her kind neighbors John and Lisa West and their family for their kind care that allowed Clara to be at home.
Clara is survived by her 13 nieces and nephews and their spouses, and her step-son Ronald R. Hindley of Santa Rosa, California.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reed; her parents, and her siblings.

I felt honored to have you for a neighbor although we did not know each other well. I hope that at least my own hand-painted greeting cards gave you a smile now and again. It feels lost without you here. Prayers and love to your family.
