Connie Rudy Obituary

Connie Crandall Rudy of Salt Lake City passed away on May 17, 2015, with her two daughters by her side.
She was 87. The child of Stella Brandon and Daniel Crandall, Connie grew up in Provo, Utah, and attended Brigham Young University and Utah State University. A known Salt Lake City fashionista, Connie worked for several years in the designer department in ZCMI. Devoted to her children and grandchildren, "there was always room at grandma's house."
Connie married H.A. Rudy in 1949, and they raised three beautiful children. Connie cherished playing bridge with her life-long friends, going out dancing with her jazz musician husband, and sewing beautiful clothes for the ladies in her life. Her polished demeanor masked a feisty personality and an intelligent wit.
She is survived by her husband H.A. Rudy; her brother, Larry (Linda) Crandall; her daughters, Robyn (Eric) Eliason (Salt Lake City, UT) and Debra Johnson (Oceanside, CA); her grandchildren, Joshua Rudy, Adam (Sarah) Rudy, Annie (Daren) Maxfield, Taylor Maxfield, Ridley Heyrend, Eric (Keely) Eliason, Eric Johnson, and Sam Johnson; and great-grandchildren, Kaya, Lauren, Stevie Lila, and Henry. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joyce Jensen, Kay Poplin, and Howard Crandall, as well as her son, Steven Rudy, who she is tap dancing in heaven with now.
There will be a private service, with an open house celebration of Connie's life to follow at the home of Robyn and Eric Eliason, 3:30 p.m. on May 21. For directions, call (801) 583-2091.

Connie was a kind and sweet woman. It was always nice to hear from her husband how much he loved her and how proud he was to be married to her. She will be greatly missed!

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.

Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
