DANIEL POGUE Obituary

Daniel Michael Pogue 1956 ~ 2010 Our beloved son, father, grand-father, friend and neighbor, Daniel M. Pogue, passed away December 25, 2010. Dan was born on January 26, 1956 in Meridian, Mississippi to Florence Ivy and William Pogue. He was the eldest of four siblings whom are Susan Pogue, Rebecca Yakavich, Jonathan Pogue. Dan grew up in Utah and graduated from Kearns High School. He married Debra A. Watson Woodruff on June 26, 1981. Dan enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a general contractor and loved hands-on activities like playing softball and fishing. Dan will be remembered by all who knew him for his willingness to help others and as a man with a great sense of humor. Dan is survived by his daughter Krystal A. Pogue; step-children: Ryan Woodruff and Angie Woodruff; 3 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at the LDS Church located at 3364 West 11400 South, South Jordan, Utah where family and friends may offer their condolences one hour prior to the service. Arrangements under the direction of McDougal Funeral Home.

You were a part of my life for a few year and u always made me life. I remember the beutiful hope chest u made for Emma. I was very lucky to have shared part of your life with you. I heard of Daniel's passing through my best friend, who's dad was his cousin. Since then, I've found out that Daniel is the father of one of my old schoolmates, Krystal. Just wanted to say that I'm sorry Krystal. I lost my mom just over a year ago. It's never an easy thing losing a parent. Hang in there.

I remember Dan not with as much hair as he has in his picture but as a man who help me through all my rough times as a kid. Dan and Debbie took me in when I was eighteen and gave me a roof over my head and food to eat. Dan was always looking out for us kids putting us to work breaking up concrete or other dirt work he didn't want to do. I feel I owe Dan alot of thanks for giving me a great work ethic and being a father figure to me. Im sure Dan has influenced most every one he has meet, I will miss him dearly

I met Danny through my cousin Greg. Danny and Greg used to come to our house in CA in the summer and spend time with us. Then when I moved to UT we used to do things together, we always enjoyed being with him. He could always make me laugh even when I was in a bad mood,he was alot of fun to be around.

I am so sorry for your loss, I had the opportunity to work with Dan on several occasions. He had the ability to take a difficult job and create a way to finish projects that others would quit on. Ours prayers and thoughts are with you.
