David Lynn Hansen of Salt Lake City passed away on June 24, 2013 at the age of 71.
Born May 5, 1942 to Lawrence H. Hansen and Thelma Bullock Hansen in American Fork, Utah.
He married Lydia A. Smith September 3, 1966 and had two children together. They later divorced. He also had a child from a previous marriage.
David served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam War Vet. He later went on to work for the U.S. Geological Survey, where he had to take an early retirement at age 42 due to disability.
He spent his retirement enjoying the great outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, cooking and watching the Utah Jazz. He also loved animals and had a great sense of humor.
He found joy in being surrounded by his family and friends and touched the lives of all those who knew him. He left us with many fond memories to cherish for years to come and his memory will always remain in our hearts.
David is survived by his three children: Kevin (Carla) Hansen, Cindy Hansen and Cory Hansen. He is also survived by two brothers: Ron (Gayle) Hansen, Jerry (Lucille) Hansen and a sister, Dianne Hansen. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lawrence Hansen.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Anderson & Sons Mortuary Chapel, 49 East 100 North, American Fork with a viewing from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial in American Fork Cemetery. Online condolences and memories may be shared andersonmortuary.com.
