The Guest Book is expired.
Our beloved mother and grandmother, Eleanor Anne Dobbs, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2013, in Salt Lake City, at the age of 88.
Eleanor was born on December 16, 1924, to Anna Wood Burleson and Frank Edward Burleson. She grew up in Virginia and married Air Force pilot James Robert Dobbs at the age of 18. Eleanor later became a devout and active member of the Presbyterian Church, serving at various times as choir director, youth fellowship director, president of the women's association, deacon, and elder. Eleanor will be remembered by all who knew her for her kindness, her beautiful smile, and her constant desire to be of service to others.
Eleanor is survived by her three children Michael (Sue) Dobbs of Oklahoma City, Lucinda Dobbs (Paulette Gibson) of Dallas, and Barbara Dobbs of Salt Lake City; her grandchildren Megan (Brian) Eades, Matt Dobbs, Melanie (Gary) Bird, Morgan (Rachel) Dobbs, and Jade Conlee; and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband and both of her brothers.
We wish to thank director George Wright and all of the wonderful staff at Sunrise of Holladay Assisted Living, for their patient and loving care of mom over the past four years. Also, hospice nurse Frankie Loftus and the other staff of Inspiration Hospice were a tremendous help in making mom's final months more comfortable.
A service in celebration of Eleanor's life will be held at 2 p.m. on June 29, 2013, at Cottonwood Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. Eleanor requested that donations be made either to Cottonwood Presbyterian Church or to the Presbytery of Utah, in lieu of flowers.
