Esther McFarlane Obituary

Esther Maria Amann McFarlane
1930 ~ 2019
Esther Maria Amann McFarlane, 88, died on January 27, 2019 at home with her family at her side. She was born on March 19, 1930 in West New York, Hudson, New Jersey. She married Veryl H. "Mac" McFarlane on Feb. 28, 1952.
Esther spent most of her career in communications and retired as Chief Communications Officer at Valley Bank & Trust. She loved to crochet and made the most beautiful afghans. In the summer she loved to work in her flower gardens. Esther loved to travel alongside with her sweetheart; their favorite destination was Hawaii. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served for many years as a Sunday School Teacher, Editor of the ward newsletters, Ward Missionary, and Temple Worker. Esther and Mac served a 25-month mission in the Public Affairs Mission for Eastern Europe. If you were to ask Esther what her greatest accomplishment was, she would say her family. She spent her entire life serving others; everything from supporting her father on his mission to caring for both her mother and mother-in-law in their senior years, all while helping raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Esther is survived by her children: David (Vicki) McFarlane, Karen (Gary) Bloomquist and Susan (Larry-deceased) White; brothers: Emil (Carol), Kent (Sharon), Arthur (Margie) Amann; and brother-in-law, John (Jack) Kinsey. She has 16 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Veryl H. McFarlane and her daughter, Tracey Ann Maurice.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 12:00 p.m., Big Cottonwood 2nd Ward, 2080 E Donelson Lane (5165 So). Dear Susie and Family,

I'm so deeply sorry to hear of your sweet mother's passing. My heart, love and sympathy goes out to you all.

I wish I was there to hug your tears away my dear friend.
I'm sorry I didn't know of her passing until today, or I would have acknowledged sooner.

Susie, you have been such a choice daughter and example of caring, supporting and loving your parents. You are one of the most unselfish people I know. You gave your "ALL" to your dear parents. You give your all to those around you. I love you dearly Susie!

Sincerely and always,

Marlene Benson
