Farrell George Allen, age 94, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013.
Born October 20, 1918 in Cove, Utah to George Q and Sarah Titensor Allen. Graduated from South High School, and attended the University of Utah where he taught art in exchange for tuition. Moved to Chicago to attend the Art Institute. He proudly served his country during World War II with the 830th Engineer Aviation Battalion. Met Elizabeth Glen of London, England in March 1944, and, following the D-Day Invasion of the European Campaign of the war, he returned to London and married Elizabeth on June 12, 1945. They were later sealed to each other in the Salt Lake Temple. She remained his friend and the love of his life for 69 years. Founder and owner of Farrell Allen Display Company. He was a humble man who loved his family and was loved and respected by many.
Preceded in death by his parents, brother Ralph Dean, son Dean Glen, grandson Shawn Dean, and granddaughter Jeri Dawn.
Farrell is survived by his wife Elizabeth, sister Jody (Edmund) Fehr, children Leslie Ingersoll, Linda (Larry) Mackay, Susan Jones, George (Melinda), John (Ann), and 21 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park Monday October 7th at 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday October 8th at the Kenwood 1st Ward LDS meeting house, 3080 South 1765 East. Viewing for family and friends at 11 am, funeral service at 12 noon. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and Memorial Park.
