Genevieve Janzen Obituary

"Jennie-Jan"
Jennie passed away January 6, 2012 of complications arising from an auto accident. Her life could be summed up by her devotion to God, family (especially her grandchildren which she loved "from eternity and back"), and her friends. She will be especially remembered for her compassionate service to others and being the "Tootsie Roll" grandma.
Jennie was born August 15, 1935, in Fillmore, Utah to Marvin L. Sheriff and Meredith M. Erickson Sheriff, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Frederick V. Janzen; sister, Catherine Sheriff; children Steven Fowler, David Fowler, Matthew (Paige), Darin (Melinda), and Brian (Rebekah); step-child Wayne (Cheryl); grandchildren Daniel, Ashley, Benjamin, Sarah, Samuel, Andrew, Kyle, Jonathan, Joshua, and Jacob; and step-grandchildren Nick (Mandi), Pete (Danielle), Alex, and Tori.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., at the Hyland Lake Ward, 981 E Revere Circle (5550 S). Family and friends may visit Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the ward. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery.
She was an active member of the LDS church and devoted to serving God and her fellow neighbor. Recently she and her husband were preparing to serve an LDS mission but she was called to serve elsewhere. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the LDS General Missionary or Humanitarian Funds, 50 E North Temple, SLC, UT 84150.

Fred -- I was deeply saddened to hear of Jennie's passing. I remember her from faculty and SRI get-togethers. I know that she was your best friend ... and profoundly more. Thinking of you at this time of sorrow and, most definitely, of reflection on what a great person Jennie was.

We loved Jennie like our own mother. She showed us through her example, how to be a devoted wife, mother, grandma and friends. How to love, laugh and serve with a joyful heart.
She was there for us in every important occasion and we will miss her so very much.
We will follow her steps and hope to become a person like her someday.

We will see you again, Jennie

We love and will miss our dear friend and neighbor Jenny. She always had a smile on her face and was eager to catch up with our family and grandkids whenever she could. Her children and grandchildren were and are her pride. She always made an effort to talk to our little grandchildren. We will miss her sweet smile, her beautiful voice and her wonderful hugs. We will always keep her close to our hearts. The Howick and Epperson family.

Dear family of Jennie,
We send our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of one of God's great Treasures,
For years we knew Jennie, as she grew up in Milford, and again in our younger years in Salt Lake. Even though the years have been many, since we have seen her we have never forgotten her. She was and is such an awesome, loving person.
May you be comforted that she has not gone away, but is beginning on her new journey and that you can be reunited again as "Families Together Forever!
We send our love and may God Bless you all at this sad time.
