Gerald Smith Obituary

Gerald Smith
1933 ~ 2015
Gerald (Jerry) Duane Smith, 81, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015. He was born June 15, 1933 in Ogden, Utah to Paul D. And Cleone Thompson Smith.
Jerry served in the US Army for two years during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Utah as a Mechanical Engineer, and owned his own consulting engineering business for 50 years.
On December 14, 1956, Jerry married Nancy J. Nelson and they later divorced. He married Carolyn J. Cameron on January 19, 1979 and moved to Manila, Utah near Flaming Gorge where they enjoyed boating, fishing, and watching the abundant wildlife. Jerry and Carolyn later moved to Mesquite, Nevada to spend his last few years enjoying the warm weather and the beauty of the desert.
In all that he did, he did the best he knew how. He and Carolyn loved to travel. They traveled all through Europe, the islands of Polynesia, and many excursions throughout the United States and Canada. Jerry always said his most beautiful destination was the island of Bora Bora, but he also had a great love for the adventures he experienced in the back country of southern Utah.
Jerry is survived by his wife Carolyn, two sons, Jerry R. (Mary) Smith, David N. (Janette) Smith; 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan E. Hastings, and his two brothers, Jack L. Smith and Gene P. Smith.
In remembrance of Jerry take a friend to lunch and just enjoy each other's company.
