James D. Anderson

Our loving father, James Darwin Anderson was blessed with a wonderful and fulfilling life. He peacefully returned home to Heavenly Father on July 22, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born to Walter Herbert Anderson and Lola Pearl Button Anderson on October 26, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a young man, Jim loved all sports and played with a semi-pro baseball team. For years he also played and coached youth basketball and coached his sons' little league baseball teams. Jim worked for the S.L.C. Police Dept. Criminal Investigation Unit as a photographer and fingerprint specialist. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves for over 15 years as a Master Tech Sergeant with the 6th Army, Criminal Investigation Detachment at Ft. Douglas, Utah. It was at the Salt Lake City and County Building where he first met the love of his life, Lois. They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 5, 1952. Jim worked in sales for the Allen Steel Company and Capitol Glass Aluminum Corporation and was awarded top salesman of the year for over twenty five years in a row. He served in many church and youth leadership positions. Family was always the cornerstone of Jim's life. He had a passion for flower gardening, especially with iris flowers. His other great passion was his love of photography. He was inducted into the Huntsman Senior Games in 2011 as a "Memory Photographer." Survivors include his children: Brian, Bradley (Shawna), Brent (Laura), Lisa Patterson (Tony), thirteen grandchildren, three great granddaughters, many nieces and nephews, and his brothers, Blaine and Robert.
