Hi Goodrich family. I don't know if you can remember me but I am Linda Asay, daughter of Douglas and Cathy Asay. We loved your parents so much! My dad and yours came from Lovell, Wyoming and my dad stayed in Bruce's dorm when he moved to SLC. Wonderful people and my memories of fun times with you, popcorn and punch and the adventures in your basement! Your parents are eternally happy and praying all is well. It's been one year and I finally saw this. My heart to you .

Jean and I were sister-in-laws and good friends. We often shared daily problems via the telephone. We dieted together, laughed together and sometimes cried together. I loved her very much. It was always a delight to visit her home where friendship and good food were abundant. I envied her culinary skills. I look forward to the time we can see each other again. I have no biological sisters, but Jean is like a sister to me. Our kids loved her too. Thanks for the sweet memories, dear Jean. I miss you. Joyce Kay Goodrich

Jean was always a happy person with a delightful smile. Coming from a family of all girls, I marveled at how she could be so cheerful with a home full of boys! She is a wonderful loving woman. We express our thoughts and love to her family at her passing. Comfort and peace to you Bruce. Karen Miller and Ada Coleman

I loved going to their home for Thanksgiving. She was a great hostess and cook. We always felt loved and accepted at Aunt Jean's and Uncle Bruce's.

I send my sincere sympathy and love at your mother's passing. I have many happy memories of your Dad and Mother. They are two very choice friends. Even though Brother Burdette is gone, I know he would want all of you boys to know that he loved you all. May the Lord's choicest blessings be yours.

Jean Goodrich was our friend, confidante, example and sister in law. It is with sadness we say goodbye for a time to this dear woman. Gary remembers when Bruce and Jean were first married and the excitement and warmth that was between these two young sweethearts.
Joyce Kay remembers the kindness and welcoming friendship Jean offered when she married Gary, Bruce's younger brother.
When we lived in California we were always welcome to stay in their home on our way to Wyoming. It was fun for cousins to become acquainted and to enjoy Jean's good cooking and the expertise of Uncle Bruce, the MAGIC dentist.
Gary remembers helping to dig trenches when Bruce was building their home. They in turn helped with unloading etc. when we moved to Utah. Good times were shared when we gather at the old homestead in Lovell, Wyoming either at Grandma Eldona Goodrich's home or in the mountains at Paint Rock-the only place to camp.
Joyce Kay remembers Jean laughing when she recounted the day she had spent doing the laundry and baking yummy things. One of her seven sons came into the house and took a deep breath. "Ahh," he said. "It smells so good. It smells just like a gymnasium." Jean took the remark in good stride and continued cooking, cleaning and loving her boys and Bruce.
For many years Bruce's brothers, sisters and their children gathered together for Thanksgiving, usually at Bruce and Jean's home. I think the final extended Goodrich Thanksgiving gathering was held in our ward chapel in Bountiful. Bruce and Jean were at home with Kelly, but the other boys had come to join us. While there we got the news that Kelly had passed away. That memory has stayed with us through the years. Often Jean and Joyce Kay spent time on the telephone as Jean grieved for her "little buddy." I'm sure they are happily reunited.
When we served our mission in Illinois we befriended a blind man in a local nursing home who introduced us to this old Protestant hymn. Supper Time. It seems appropriate to share it with you.
Many years ago in days of chldhood
I used to play til even' shadows come
Then windin' down that old familiar pathway
I'd hear my mother call at set of sun.

Come home, come home its suppertime
the shadows lengthen fast
Come home, come home its supper time
We're goin' home at last.

Spoken:
Some of the fondest memories of my childhood
were woven round supper time
When my mother used to call
From the back steps of the old home place
Come home now son, its supper time.

Ahh but I'd love to hear that once more
But now for me time has woven the realization of the truth that's even more thrilling and that's when the call comes up from the portals of glory To come home for its supper time. When all God's children shall gather around the table Of the Lord Himself and the greatest suppertime of them all

Come home, come home its supper time
The shadows lengthen fast
Come home, come home its supper time.
We're going home at last.

We hope to feast with you when that times come for all of us. Remember your Mom is saving a place for you at the table.

With love, Uncle Gary, Aunt Joyce Kay and family: Maureen, Gary, Karen, Kaye, Kathy and Michael.
