Jeffrey Olson Obituary

1952 ~ 2016
SALT LAKE CITY, UT-Jeffrey Olson was born on July 16, 1952 in Salt Lake City to Sara Ruth Kelsey and Virgil Bernard Olson. He died of natural causes on November 6, 2016.
Jeff was a devoted father who found most of his happiness being with his children and grandchildren. He loved making other people laugh, and was good at it! Jeff was an actor, stand-up comic, and local radio personality. He had roles in ConAir, Clay Pigeons, Touched By an Angel, and numerous other films and T.V. shows. His career spanned five decades.
Jeff would describe himself as being an excellent golfer, quite good at playing basketball, baseball, football, and fair at tennis and racquetball.
He is survived by his children: Ingrid, Adam (Sara), April, Andy, Austin, Anthony, and Erik; and his ex-wife Michelle. He is also survived by his brother Jim (Shauna).
A special thanks to all those who cared for Jeff these last few years.
Please join our family for funeral services on Sunday November 13th at 3:00 at the Wasatch Hills Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2139 Foothill Drive, SLC, 84109.

I first seen Jeff when I worked at the Canyon Inn, Cottonwood Heights, Utah. He performed a comedy show on certain Saturday nights in 1981-82. When he performed on those nights the place was SRO. That man was funny.

I WENT TO EVERGREEN JR. HIGH SCHOOL WITH JEFF AND HAD DRAMA CLASS TOGETHER. HE WAS GREAT EVEN THEN. I REMEMBER HIM IN CHARLIES AUNT, HE HAD A LEAD ROLE AND MADE THE ENTIRE SCHOOL LAUGH. I AM SORRY TO HEAR OF HIS PASSING. BLESS HIM FOR MAKING THE WORLD A HAPPIER PLACE.

So sad to hear of Jeff's passing. We graduated from Skyline, and years later worked on many, many TV, radio, and film projects together. Jeff had the best Ronald Reagan impression ever.
Keep 'em laughing, buddy. If I make it up there, I'll look for you.

We were shocked and saddened when with saw that Jeff had passed. Jeff was one of the funniest guys ever. Jeff for years would stop at our U OF U tailgate party and tell a few funny stories much to the delight of our guests. Jeff will be missed. Jeff can now entertain up above. God Bless. Dear Olson Family:

I first met Jeff as a caddy at The Salt Lake Country Club.

We had many a good laugh, and I remember the day he ate Harry Ostler's lunch on the 12th hole. Boy was Harry mad.

I haven't seen Jeff in 20 years but about a year ago I called him and it was the same old Jeff.

Please give Hap a hello for me.

YOU

Love,

Tony Bailey

There is a thin line that separates laughter and pain, comedy and tragedy, humor and hurt. e.b. A loss of incredible talent and a thoughtful, kind, loving man. He left us all laughing!!

Jeff Olson was an excellent actor and a classic comedy talent. My company hired him to star as "Coach" in several award winning training videos that have become iconic in our industry.

He was always clever and routinely had us in stitches.

We had the opportunity to work with him again two years ago to update the contents and jumped at the chance.

My deepest condolences to his his family. We cherish our warm memories of working with Jeff.

Dammit, how he made me laugh. I loved his impersonations back in the day of John Wayne, Walter Brennan and many other actors. He was spot on. May his sweet soul rest in peace.
