I see that the celebration of his life is today, and that gave me this idea. We're going out on the annual "Blessing of the fleet" today where they bless all the of the fishing fleet. I have some ashes that are from a friend who died on a bike a year ago and I was going to throw them in the water after we are blessed, before the party starts. I have an old Roth Army tee that is too spent to wear anymore that I saved . I printed a picture from his avatar to put with it. I also included a rock from one of the local beaches that is know for these weird stripped rocks that people like to make fireplaces out of, and and is marked like the stripes on Ed guitars. I'm gonna wrap this all up and toss it into the waters of Cape Cod bay for him. He had Excitedly PMed me about DG and him coming down here to party and take in the local seafood (lobster rolls particularly), but alas, fate did not allow. I'd like to think that in some small way, This is a fitting sendoff from this end.
Max will make his splash in Cape Cod Bay after all......
My deepest sympathy to DG and Jeremy's family.
Igo.

Within the scope of a lifetime a person can count themselves lucky to have met a small handful of people that are true friends and shape them for the better. My list is extremely short, but Jeremy is on that list. I have thought of you many times throughout my life, Jeremy and always with the greatest fondness. Thank you for being my friend. I love you.

I am so greatful for all the years of our friendship. To actually know someone for 30 years is uncommon. You/We were brothers that no matter what happened we always made it work. I am also thankful that I was able to be with you this past year to still have our ongoing conversations and laugh about the inside jokes. Thanks for being so great to my girls. And know that I love Jane and Elway and they will be watched over. With Much Love, Chris

Jer, from the first night I met you at Cafe Sorrento I knew you were an amazing person. I immediately realized why you made my mother so happy and hoped you would continue to do so. We all had some pretty great times together, including St. Patrick's Day in Southie, Mike remembers that day fondly... You always held up your end of the bargain keeping a smile on my mom's face through even the toughest times. I only hope that we were able to do the same for you and will continue to as you look down on us from above. You will be eternally missed and never replaced in our hearts. I love you big guy.

I'm so sorry to hear about Jer. He was an original (hired on the spot) moderator at both the Army and here.
There was a reason for this. He combined both humor and the seriousness of Roth in his posts... and that's what distinguished him from the totally serious and the not-so-serious. It wasn't 50/50... it was just... well... Max.

Dear Jane, We loved Jeremy very much and although we didn't get to see him enough as we all got older, our memories of him and the fun times we had in Kanarra will be forever cherished. I'm sorry for any pain that Ches has caused you but the rest of us will always love you and remember the wonderful years that we had Jeremy here with us on earth. I hope that the plant we sent was nice. It's a gamble when you aren't there to purchase them but none of my kids live in the Salt Lake area anymore so I had to trust the FTD services.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and we are sorry we can't come to the memorial but most of my family are on a river rafting trip and my cancer is growing again so I am starting chemo again next Thursday.
Again, Jane, our love, thoughts and prayers are with you.
Debbie, Ron, Josh, Anisa, Lucas, Logan and families.

Though I only knew Jer from being pals at and co-moderating music and guitar gear sites for a few years, his wit and humor was always refreshing. Yes, he could be stubborn, but even when we disagreed he'd always PM me a "you know I still love ya, bro" message to remind me that friends CAN disagree and still remain friends. His presence at the sites we know him from is already greatly missed, and the void will never be filled. I take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering, and probably enjoying music and guitar again on some other plane of existence. Rest in Peace, my brother. You will be missed.

I'm so glad I knew you Jer. From watching Star Wars and Clint Eastwood movies as kids, guitar lessons, entering high school then growing up. Remaining in contact as adults, sometimes very loosely but always keeping touch. Many things I wish I could take back.....farewell old friend I miss you. Rest In Peace in the hands of God.
