Kevin Page Obituary

1955 ~ 2013
Kevin Jay Page, age 57, of St. George, Utah, passed away April 27, 2013. Born in Lewiston, Idaho on December 31, 1955 to David and Maxine Page, Kevin lived by a simple motto "Work hard and play hard." Soon after serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kevin married Pamela Jean Matthews in the Los Angeles, California temple on June 9, 1978. They moved to Utah soon after their marriage. Together there was nothing this dynamic duo could not do. Kevin worked as an auctioneer for over 20 years, managing Brasher's Auto Auction for 17 years and servicing the community at Western Fleet Sales. During those years he and Pam completed their family of six children and lived in South Jordan and Kamas, Utah. He served in many capacities in the church, including Elder's Quorum president, counselor in the Bishopric, and Bishop. Kevin's ready smile, genuine love of people, and strong work ethic helped him build many friendships and earned the respect of everyone he met. In 2010 Kevin and Pam served a mission for the LDS church in Accra, Ghana. Since their return home Kevin has continued to live by his motto, working hard in the yard of their St. George home, rebuilding his Bronco, serving a church service mission at the St. George Home Storage Center, and exploring the beautiful terrain of southern Utah with Pam and new friends in their Washington ward. The role he treasured the most was being grandpa to his 27 beautiful grandchildren.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents David and Maxine Page and his granddaughter Alexis Faith Page, and is survived by his wife Pam and their children Heather (Sean) Cummings, Brianne (Erik) Olson, Megan (Greg) Atkinson, Clinton (Shanna) Page, Chelsea (Kyle) Dunaway, and Darci (Jason) Hansen.
Funeral services will be held Friday May 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Kamas Stake Center, 3038 North State Road 32 Marion, Utah. A viewing will be held the prior evening, Thursday May 2, in the same location from 6-8:00 p.m. and one hour prior on Friday. Arrangements-Crandall Funeral Home.

Our hearts ache for this tragedy. How we loved the Pages in Ghana - they truly depict a celestial marriage. We pray, Pam, that you will find comfort in the wonderful life and family you shared and your children and grandchildren will always remember the beautiful legacy left by their father/grandfather. Our love goes out to you and your family. God bless you to find comfort in the knowledge that you are an eternal family and will be together again. But in the meantime, we know it is lonely and painful. Love, The Breillatts

I have mentally written this note several times in the past week or so. Each time I can not come up with the right words to express how much I love and respect your family. I'm so glad we all know what Kevin and all our loved ones are doing together on the other side. My love and prayers are with you. Karen Allmendinger

Dear Pam,

All of us here in the Africa West Area were very saddened when we heard of Kevin's passing. We so enjoyed the time we had to get to know you while you were here serving your mission. You were wonderful missionaries and because of your considerable efforts very many lives in Africa will be forever changed for the better.

Please know that even in this distant land, we are aware of you and love you. We are very grateful that we were blessed to meet you and watch you in action. You are a great team and were both excellent examples of Christ-like love.

We pray for your comfort.

Love,
Martin & Jennifer Slater

Dearest Page Family,
You all are so strong and have such a deep love for the gospel and plan of salvation. This was brought to life by the amazing role model in your father. He influenced so many and brought this same light to all those he came in contact with. Thank you for sharing him and your family with our community. It is a true blessing to have known such an outstanding man. We know your father will continue to influence you all.

The opportunity of living by your precious family so close to home has blessed our lives beyond measure. Kevin, Thank you for being such an example, for bringing out the sunshine everywhere you went, for the love that you always shared. Your bright spirit will be missed beyond what words can say. May you rest in peace and the light of your love shine on your sweet wife and family for all time and eternity.

Dearest Page Family,

Our hearts go out to you at this sad time. When we heard of Kevin's passing, I immediately began remembering many of the things about Bishop from when I was growing up. One of the greatest spiritual lessons I learned was really temporal in nature. I know when he was looking for a job early on in his career, he had an offer that would require him to work Sundays. Staying true to his faith in the Lord, he declined it and soon found in the want-ads a job that would be perfect for him (and not require him to work on Sundays). If I remember right, he found this job while at home with his wife on a Sunday afternoon when he would have otherwise been working at this other job had he taken it. This example has guided me throughout my entire life and to this day, I have been blessed to also not have had to work on a single Sunday. In doing this, I have had to turn down jobs too... but my faith was already firm because it was strengthened in this exact area by learning from Bishop Page as a youth that if I put my faith and trust in Heavenly Father, he would provide a way for me to keep his commandments - just like Bishop Page did. I will always remember your dad, husband, grandpa for this.

I know how sad you must all be, as I know my heart was greatly affected and saddened by the news of his passing, but I take comfort and joy in knowing that you're family is an eternal family and you all will be with him again someday.

We love you guys and our prayers have been with you constantly since we heard the news.

Love,

The used car industry is deeply saddened for the loss of one of our own. Kevin was always committed to the success of those in our industry. Like everything he did, he served with full heart and confidence as the President of the Independent Auto Dealers Association. Because of his efforts he was awarded the Quality Dealer of the Year and also received the Eagle Award for membership. He was a great example to all who worked with him of integrity and hard work. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family.

An awesome man will be missed here, but Heaven is a better place to have him. "Never forget that God only gives you what He knows you can handle. There is no situation you are experiencing alone. God walks beside you always." Lean on his loving strength to get you through this challenge. I know how hard it is. Love to you all.
