LaVerne Evans Obituary

1915 ~ 2011
LaVerne North Evans, 96, passed away Sept. 26 at her home in St. George, UT. She was born on Sept. 24, 1915 in Stringtown, UT, to Asahel Albert and Mary Steadman North. She was the 7th of eight children. LaVerne went to school in Charleston, Midway and Heber City. She married Glyndon Evans in the Salt Lake Temple on Mar. 4, 1938. They are the parents of four children, Norma (Darl) Wolfe, Janice (Norman) Connelly, Robert (Vicki) and Wendy (Jeffrey) Bushman. She had 16 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glyndon, and two great-grandsons, Justin and Cody.
LaVerne lived in Stringtown until her marriage, when she and Glyn moved to Park City where they lived for five years. They moved to Heber City in 1943 and LaVerne lived there until 2007 when she moved to Salt Lake City for a short time then on to St. George. She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and also enjoyed her membership in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She loved taking care of the yard and was always doing a needlework project of one kind or another. She was a kind, gentle soul and will be missed.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 30, 2011 - 12 Noon in the Heber LDS 4th Ward, 725 East 600 South, Heber City. A viewing will be Friday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. prior to the services at the LDS Church. Interment will follow in the Heber City Cemetery.
