1938 ~ 2013
Our loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather, Manuel Gonzales, passed away on February 9, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 22, 1938 in Monticello, Utah, the son of Prudencio Gonzales and Lisiada Velasquez Archuleta. He married Alice Hernandez whom he loved dearly. They were happily married for 54 years. He served in the
and was employed with the Salt Lake City Parks Department for 36 years, where he made many lifetime friends and retired in 2000. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a great mechanic and could fix anything. He will be greatly missed by his loyal dog, Bart. He was a kind-hearted, funny, strong, loving, and amazing man who cared for everyone that walked into his home. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Alice; children, Phillip (Janette) Gonzales, and Tammie (Wesley) Ray; brother, David, sister, Clorinda Montano, seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Manuel E. Gonzales, one brother and two sisters.
We want to give a special thanks to Dr. Horton for the many years of care for our father and also Dr. DuPont, and nurses, Kevin, Matt, and Adry.
