Margaret Elaine McCafferty Condie Obituary
1922 ~ 2013
Margaret Elaine was born November 9th, 1922 in Ephraim, Utah. Elaine was the second eldest daughter, one of eight siblings born to Silas and Eva Smith McCafferty. Elaine was always the competitor with her older and loving sister Phyllis, while Phyllis was the conservative sibling, Elaine was the prankster and instigator of mischief. She had a warm, enduring spirit, she loved to laugh and her grandchildren, nieces and nephews will always remember that infectious laugh that lightened up a room
Elaine graduated from North Sanpete High School, attended both Snow College and the University of Utah. During World War II Elaine faithfully and with devotion served her Country as an employee at the Remington Arms and Ammunition Plant in Salt Lake City, her job was to package and provide quality control for the bullets that won the victory. She was a member of "America's Greatest Generation".
Elaine married Richard M. Condie and together they raised six children, Kimberly, Kirk, Thomas, Ann, Margaret and Lisa. Elaine was a wonderful warm and loving wife, mother and Grandmother to nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She dearly loved her immediate family and her extended family which include many nieces and nephews. She served as the neighborhood Grandmother to many on Humboldt Avenue in south Minneapolis during her later years.
Elaine is survived by her children, Kimberly, Thomas, Ann, Margaret and Lisa and her brother, Michael McCafferty and his wife Dianne in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. and her son, Kirk, parents, Silas and Eva, sister, Phyllis and brothers, Silas, Robert, Don, David and Lund McCafferty.
She was truly our sunshine and will be missed all her family and friends.
The family would like to thank the Mt. Olivet Careview Home and the special attention and care she received from Jewel and CeCe.
