Milton Bohling Obituary

"Gramps"
May 22, 1923 ~ November 14, 2015
Our kind and humble husband, dad, gramps, brother and friend, Milton Evan Bohling, 92, returned to his Heavenly Home on November 14, 2015. He was welcomed into the arms of his eternal sweetheart "Bev," his little daughter Peggy and his sweet mother, who died when he was 8 days old… and many more…oh what a reunion!
His life began May 22, 1923 born to Clarence Evan and Vida Giauque Bohling. After graduating from South High, he was employed at Mountain Fuel Supply Co. where his secretary became the love of his life. The Air Force called and he considered it his privilege to serve across the states to India 1943-1946. With a little "coaxing" on his part, he married his sweetheart, Beverly Jane Sieverts in the Salt Lake Temple Oct 20, 1949. They built their dream home on Westwood Dr. where they continued to raise their family and lived for 54 wonderful years. Dad was so grateful to be able to stay in his "home" with the help of loving family, amazing neighbors and compassionate care services.
He taught us through his quiet example to want less and appreciate more. Nothing mattered more to dad than the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his role as husband and father. He was always there! There to help with house or yard work. There to soothe the babies, who all melted over his shoulder. There to help a friend. There for our mom he cherished. There to listen. Always there at church, serving in any capacity he was called. Always there at the Conference Center serving as a host for 12 wonderful years. Though a simple man of few words he was sturdy and steadfast, consistent and strong, gentle and wise. So patient and tender, all who met him or cared for him fell in love with him. He never spoke ill of anyone and worried about everyone but himself, always stating "I'm OK!"
"Gramps" had 11 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren who adored him and he prayed for each of us daily. His dying wish was for us to keep our family together and raise our children in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Also survived by his children: Mardee (Robert) Wise, Linda (Randy) Barker, Bradley (Michele) Bohling. Preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant daughter Peggy, brother Arnold, sister Marge Sundquist, in-laws Albert and Jane Sieverts.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 20 at 12 Noon at the Mt. Olympus Grandeur Peak ward at 3610 E. 3510 So. Family will greet friends Thursday evening 6-8 p.m. at the ward and Friday from 11:00-11:45 prior to services.

It has been such an honor to serve Milt as one of his hospice nurses. A sweet and wonderful man who will be dearly missed. May you find peace as you grieve your loss.

Was so grateful that we found out about Milt's passing. Thanks for stopping by and letting us know. Milt lived a wonderful life and I am sure he is very happy seeing Bev again as well as others.

Bud and I have wonderful memories of them with ASTD in Salt Lake and then when we moved to New Jersey, they came and stayed a couple of times and attended NY ASTD meetings and we went to Florida together and Bud and I both probably got skin cancer from that trip. It was still so grand to be with them. We give our sympathy to you all but know that he is in a good place. May peace be with you.

To the Bohling family: You dad was a wonderful man. He lived a wonderful life.I know he missed your dear mother and what a great reunion that he is having with her and other loved ones. I remember all the times we had, going to Lake Powell. Memories that will be cherished by you and your family. The last time I saw your dad was at my own dad's funeral with Linda. It was so touching to see him. You really had a great dad, as I did. I am thinking about you and your family. May you be blessed in the days to come and remember all the fun times.
