Peter Chiodo Obituary
1935 ~ 2015
Our loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away February 25, 2015 with his family by his side, after a long and hard-fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born November 6, 1935 to Peter and Rose Chiodo, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended Judge Memorial, and graduated in 1954.
He served in the United States Navy, rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, and despite the urgings of senior officers to attend officer school in Annapolis, he chose to pursue his passion and become a dentist. The dream was realized with a degree from Marquette University. Pete served in the public health service on his way to opening his own practice.
He married Dorothy Knudson on February 13, 1969. They were blessed with two fine sons. The only passion that surpassed the love of dentistry was his love for his family.
He is survived by wife, Dorothy, sons: Peter Anthony (Jeanna), Andrew Paul (Holly), and grandchildren: Anthony Paul and Ava Emerald.
Preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
A devout Catholic, a Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his honor on Monday March 2, 11 a.m. at Saint Ambrose Catholic Church, 1975 South 2300 East. The Rosary will be recited Sunday March 1 at 7 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the Rosary. Committal: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park 3401 South Highland Drive.
