I have many good memories of John as we worked together at Tooele Army Depot in the 60's & 70's. I first met John when he was Chief of Box & Crate (Bldg 647) and he would come to our office (Bldg 620) several times a day to coordinate with Ferris Lawson, Bud VanNoy, Bob Hurst, Jim Gochis, Arva Nelson or Bill Deluca. Louise Hales, Pat Curtis and I provided the clerical support to this great team of supervisors. There was never a dull moment as John or Buck Hall were always going to play a joke on someone, you just never knew who. We all needed some laughter as we worked long hours in support of the Viet Nam conflict.

Many of that team have passed on but I know they would remember John's great personality and his devotion to his country, our mission, and his family in the same way that I do.

To the Pizzello Family. I was saddened to learn of the death of John the other day. I have known John for a number of years as we have worked together to perfect his claims with the VA. We have truly lost a patriot, WWII hero who must have endured much while a POW in WWII. I have had many talks with him and now, as I consider my association with him has ended, I want the family to know I am still there for Ann and John, Ralph and LuAnn but especially for Ann, who inheirates John's legacy. God Bless. Mike and Cis Jensen, National Veterans Service Officer, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and loyal comrade.

To the Pizzello Family, I was saddened to learn of John's passing. I recall many fond conversations with John over the years as he would talk about his WWII experiences. The world has truly lost another patriot from the Greatest Generation. My heart goes out to the whole family. Please know that I am ready to help you carry on the legacy he has left us. I am always available to assist in any way possible. God Bless You All.
