Raymond Hutchings, age 55, of Mapleton, UT, passed away August 31, 2013. Ray passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer. He was born in Provo, Utah to the late "Bud" DeMar Hutchings and Mary Ellen Partridge on August 3, 1958. He joined the
after High School. He received an honorable discharge in 1982. Raymond and Sherry were married in 1987. Raymond was a journeyman cement finisher for all of his adult life. He took great pride in his work. He worked for Okland Construction for the last 20 years. Ray loved the mountains and spent as much time there as he could with his family. He was an avid muzzle-load hunter and fisherman. He was very proud to harvest a trophy buck in Eastern Utah in 2003.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Sherry; children: Samual, Chad, Michelle and Katie; and siblings: MaryAnn (Brad), Rick (Kathy), Wayne (Lori), Alan (Tracie), Matthew, and Jennifer.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the generous support of the Okland Construction Family, as well as to Dr. W. Akerly and his team at Huntsman Cancer Institute. We also thank the wonderful friends at Maple Creek Hospice.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2013 in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel, 185 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10-10:50 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Spanish Fork City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent at
