Robert Peter Suchyta loving, husband, father and grandfather died January 27, 2015 after a long and lingering illness.
Bob was born June 5, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Rose (Cieslowski) Suchyta. He graduated from Hamtramck High and received a bachelor and master degree from the University of Detroit. He was a certified public accountant and worked for an accounting firm followed by 37 years at Walker Manufacturing. Bob served honorably during the Korean War from 1950-1953. He was a Knight of Columbus since age 19 achieving 3rd and 4th degree ranks. He loved to golf and bowl, as well as attend his grandchildren's recitals and tournaments throughout the years.
Bob is survived by his wife Marie (Merecki), his daughters Mary (Kelly Murnin) of Salt Lake City, Sharon (Dave Rasmussen) of Golden, Colorado, Karen (Evans House) of Denver, Colorado, Julie (Daryl Hoekstra) of Denver, Colorado and grandchildren Patrick of Baltimore, Maryland and Emily of Redlands, California. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John, Frank and Edward, and sister Rose.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday January 31, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Saint Ambrose Church, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held prior to the mass at 11:30 a.m. A celebration of Bob's life will follow the mass at Saint Ambrose.
Many thanks to all of his physicians, nurses and other health care workers, Sunrise and VA nursing homes, and Bristol Hospice. Thank you to the many friends and family who have supported him through the 18 years of his illness.
