Robert Joseph Quintana 1926 ~ 2011 LAYTON, UT Robert Joseph Quintana, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. Robert was born April 27, 1926 in Montrose, Colorado the son of Frank and Jacobita Maria Maestas Quintana. He married Sinforosa Cordova on May 23, 1948 in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Robert is an ordained Roman Catholic deacon and cursillista. He has served at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church for 31 years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Robert retired after 28 years in the U.S. Navy, including service with the Seabees, and the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a sheepherder, coal miner, farm and field worker, the railroad and was an employee of the civil service for 34 years, working as an aircraft inspector, crate carpenter and 15 years as custodian at E.G. King Elementary. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with flowers. Surviving are his wife Sinforosa, children, Gilbert (Joyce), Patrick (Norma), Dave, Jackie (Ron), Roberta (Bellard), Frank, Liz (Arlan), Louise, Cecilia (John), Larry (Christina), 32 grandchildren, 67 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marjorie Rivera. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 210 So. Chapel Street, Layton. Friends may visit family Monday from 5 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Condolences may be shared at: www.lindquistmortuary.com

I know Robert was not my grandfather though I thought of him as my own. I hold him Dear to my heart in remembrance of you "Grandpa". Love you Mucho! I love all of you Quintana's and my prayers go out to you.

Mr Quintana was the best of neighbors. He was always working in his beautiful yard and always made sure his flag was up.
