Robert Solon "Bob" Wood Obituary
In Loving Memory
Robert "Bob" Solon Wood, 63, passed quietly in his home in Ninilchik Alaska on July 17 2018. Bob was born to Edna Betty (Harmon Wood) Turner and Farlin Lamar Wood in Provo Utah. He graduated high school in Springville Utah, followed by four years of service in the United States Air Force where he began his career as a diesel mechanic. Bob was highly respected in his trade and held important positions with many large organizations such as Stout Corp, where he built glider kits, to Peak Oil Field Services where he was a Master Mechanic. More recently, he held positions as a Rig Mechanic for Inlet Drilling and All American Drilling in Alaska.
Bob loved fishing, hunting, cooking, camping and riding his motorcycle but above all he loved his family and friends. You never felt safer than when you were in the grasp of one of his hugs. Though he had no children of his own, he was a father to many. He is survived by his mother Edna Betty Turner, St George, UT, brothers Lynn Farlin Wood and Gregory Harmon Wood of Lake Havasu City, AZ, sisters Deborah Wood Richmond, St George, UT, Samantha Ann Johnson, Stansbury Park, UT and Tracy Diane Stewart of Salt Lake City, UT as well as nine nieces and nephews and eight grand nieces and nephews. Bob was adored by all that knew him whether family or friend.
All are welcome for a gathering and celebration of life, which will be held Saturday September 22, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the St George Sunset Stake, 820 North Valley View Drive, St George Utah 84771.
