1929 ~ 2016
Robert Timothy Quinn, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on May 18, 2016 after a short illness. Born July 13, 1929 to James W and Vera Lewis Quinn; married Dolores Marrelli on October 21 1950.
In his youth he spent two summers in Wyoming at the Elephant Head and Blackwater lodges as a wrangler and horseback riding guide, he enjoyed talking about this experience all the time. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Panama. After his discharge he went to work for the Newspaper Agency Corporation as a photoengraver for 18 years. He then went on to work for Sun Litho as a lithographer retiring after 18 years. He was a Scoutmaster at Our Lady of Guadalupe church. He enjoyed participating in and watching sporting events including playing softball, bowling, golfing and attending University of Utah Football games; always wearing his Utah colors.
Survived by his children; David (Johnnie), Debra (Mark), Kathleen, Mary Jo (Joel), five grandchildren and eight grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dolores, son Timmy and brother Bill.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday May 25, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, 1975 South 2300 East. Friend may call Wednesday one hour prior to Mass, at the church. Committal service at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 4th Ave and 'T' Street. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the nurses and staff at Rocky Mountain Hospice; also to the Internal Medicine doctors and nurses at the University of Utah Hospital.
