Rodger Steven Cope, 64 passed away on May 20, 2014 at his home in the beautiful mountains of Woodland Park, Colorado. He was born November 2, 1949 to Evan S. and Jeanne Wilson Cope in Provo, Utah. Rodger grew up and attended school in Salt Lake and Bountiful. In 1968 he joined the Air Force and served in the Vietnam War and later at Hill AFB. Following his military service he was employed with Federal Express and later as a computer specialist for the U.S. Forest Service in Idaho, Oregon and Utah, and for the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salt Lake City. Rodger was an avid reader and loved to travel. He enjoyed his visit to Tahiti and traveling through Europe.
He is survived by his father, Evan, sisters Carol K. Freestone (Edward) and Norma J. Argyle (Boyd), nieces and nephews and many extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeanne and his brother Richard E. Cope. He loved Colorado and the family wishes to extend their thanks and appreciation to his wonderful friends and associates in Woodland Park.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 9, 2014 at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Bluffdale, UT. 84065.
