Ephraim, UT-Roland passed away July 12, 2012 at home in Ephraim. Roland was born on August 22, 1933 in Salt Lake City, UT to Marlin and Shila Larsen. He married Carla Holfeltz on May 5, 1961 (sealed 1966, Salt Lake temple). Roland worked as a machinist for most of his life, and was employed by St. Regis, Vredenberg, and Val's among others. He felt, however that the eight years he served as an ordinance worker in the Manti LDS Temple outweighed the rest. To his family and friends his unflappable patience, unstoppable sense of humor, and unending supply of genuine love, have been and shall continue to be an example, an inspiration and a beacon of hope. Roland is survived by his loving wife, Carla, his children, Elaina (J.W.), Marlin (Velma [deceased]), Helen (Darren), Thayne (Candace); 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, his sister, Jean Cazier. He was preceded in death by his parents, one nephew, one grandson, one great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Monday July 16, 2012 at 1:30 pm in the Ephraim LDS Stake Center (400 E. Center) in Ephraim, UT. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 pm and Monday from 12:00-1:00 pm prior to services at the Stake Center in Ephraim. Interment in the Eprhaim Park Cemetery. Full obituary and online condolences at
