Rosanna Mary Lombard Crawley Obituary
Rosanna Mary Lombard Crawley
1927 - 2017
Salt Lake City, UT-Rosanna Mary Lombard Crawley age 89, passed away, peacefully, Saturday May 6, 2017 at home surrounded by her devoted husband and loving family. Rosanna was born October 7, 1927 in Fort Plain, NY to James Anthony Lombard and Nicolena M. Ferraro Lombard.
Rosanna was a Registered Nurse-pediatrics, graduating from Good Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY. She loved caring for children, both her own and many others in the practice over many years. Rosanna married her one true love, Stanley W. Crawley, on August 14, 1949 in NY State, and moved to Salt Lake City in 1958 with their two children, later adding two more children to the family. She was so proud of her husband and her entire family that it shinned through in her smile every day. She deeply touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her sweet disposition carried us all through so many tests and trials, but her spirit, and her devotion to her family and friends never wavered. She will remain a huge part of us all, forever.
The parties and guests at the cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon were some of her most cherished memories. Always with a smile and a meal ready to eat, Rosi always took care of and fed anyone who showed up close to dinner time, always 6:00PM sharp. She also deeply cherished all her bridge-group friends and ski companions over the years. The many friends mom maintained lasted her entire life time---so many remained true to the end-special thanks to Barbara Williams and Lynn Christopher, and so many others who stayed strong and loyal when Rosanna's mobility became limited. Our warmest thanks and appreciation to all of her excellent nurses at CNS, all the ladies at Danville Support Services, and our deepest appreciation to Solstice Hospice Care Team for their remarkable attention, care, compassion and guidance throughout mom's most difficult moments. Thank you to Father Andrew and St. Ambrose Parish for all the comfort and grace they extended to Rosanna and our family.
Rosanna is survived by her devoted and adoring husband Stan, her four loving children: Peter Crawley; Nancy Salvesen (Brent); William Crawley; and Susan Gomez, and her beloved and loyal sister, Mary Jean Cherenzia of Denver, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her three caring brothers: Ferd, Rich, and Jim Lombard whom she adored and admired her entire life. She will be greatly missed and remembered by everyone who knew her. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild, and all the nieces and nephews across the country that will always hold her with much love and dearly in their hearts. We may never know another love so strong, as Rosanna's love for us all.
Dad's sweetheart and our dear mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend will be inurned in a private family ceremony this month, in accordance with her wishes. An anticipated memorial service will be held and notice will be published at a later time. In lieu of flowers, Rosanna would have loved to encourage all to make a donation to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, or to a , in her memory.
