Ruth M. Burgener Obituary
Ruth M. Burgener
1923 ~ 2012
Ruth M. Burgener- Our beloved friend and neighbor passed away peacefully on October 2, 2012 at the home she loved. Ruth was born to Arthur and Elizabeth Hutchens Smith in Girard, Kansas on March 15, 1923. She later moved with her family to Kalispel, Montana, where she graduated from high school. She met Albert Burgener, her lifelong companion of 60 years, in California during World War II. He preceded her in death in 2006. Ruth was employed by Litton Industries for 13 years as a supervisor.
Ruth and Albert both built their dream home in 1953 in Holladay, Utah. She was a perfectionist both in and outside of her home. Her yard has been her lifetime hobby, as one can see by the beautiful surroundings of her home. She loved to share her recipes and cooking with neighbors and friends. She and Albert delighted in canning their many home grown food products.
Ruth was a member of the LDS Church and shared her love with all including her musical talents at church and rest homes. We who knew and loved her saw her as the guardian of our neighborhood. She will be dearly missed by all. She expressed her special thankfulness and gratitude to those close by who have served and assisted her.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10:00am at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 1950 E. 10600 S. Sandy, Utah.
