STEPHEN SMITH Obituary

Stephen Kropf Smith 1942 ~ 2011 Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, Stephen Kropf Smith, age 69, passed away on April 28, 2011, after a lengthy battle with lymphoma.Born January 3, 1942 in Murray, Utah to LeRoy Bigler and Eva Kropf Smith. Served a mission in the North Central States Mission, headquartered in Minneapolis. Has a strong testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings, including branch president at Bennion Care Center. Married Judy Larson May 14, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Worked at Western/Delta Airlines for over 35 Years. From vacations to countless hours playing games with grandchildren, his family was his greatest joy. Passionate about the Utah Jazz, BYU and Utah Sports. Survived by his wife, Judy; children: Ronald (Michelle), Melinda (Joe) Goodman; grandchildren, Josh, Elizabeth, Hugh, Trisha, Brackston, Trey, Hayden and Brevynn; brother, Martin; sisters, Dorothy, Rayona, Linda and Marina. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth, daughter, Amy and sister, LeRoyce. His family would like to thank the special doctors and nurses at HCI and the West Valley Dialysis Center; especially Dr. McGregor. Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 3, 2011, 12:00 noon at the Bennion Ward, 5980 South 1300 West. Viewings will be Monday, from 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road and at the Church from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.

Judy and family: We are so sorry for your loss, I enjoyed living close to Steve for 24 years, I thought the world of him and will miss him. Steve was awesome for the folks at Bennion Care Center and I appreciated his God loving ways. May he rest in peace free from his suffering and affliction.
