Thomas John Sadler|
1930 ~ 2014
"Old firemen never die. They just lose their spark."
Thomas John Sadler was born on June 10, 1930 to Thomas Boberg and Melba Dow Sadler. He married Barbara Jean Corak on September 29, 1954 and they were later sealed together with their family in the Salt Lake Temple. Tom passed away on May 16, 2014.
Tom is survived by his children, Carlynn (J.R.), Mark (Terri), Kristine (Tony); grandchildren, Bethany (Dave), Natalie (Jake), Ryan (Nicole), Joe (Kylee), Alisha, Katie (Taylor), Kathryn, Geoffrey, Alex, Nathaniel; and great-grandchildren, Parker, Eden, Arita, Lizzie, Ruby, Knoxx, and Landon.
Dad served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later worked at Kennecott Copper with his father, and then became a career firefighter with the Salt Lake County Fire Department, where he retired as Deputy Chief. Dad was known for his bountiful garden, puttering around his home, and helping his neighbors with anything they needed. With dad, family always came first and we have wonderful memories of backyard bar-b-ques, camping trips, and pheasant hunts.
Our family would like to thank the Nurses, CNA's and other staff at Hunter Hollow and Rocky Mountain Hospice for the dignified and loving care they provided over the past two years.
