Spring City, UT-Verdi Henry Schofield, 82 passed away at his home in Spring City surrounded by his family. He was born July 8, 1930 in Spring City to Henry Simeon and Rose Regina Schofield. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. He married Shirley Rae Roberts Searle on Sept. 17, 1983, later sealed in the Manti Temple and enjoyed going to the temple. He was an avid reader of LDS literature and Louis Lamour novels. His hobbies included collecting old cars, taking care of his old historic home, gardening and watching "The Price is Right" and old westerns. He loved to spend time in the outdoors and family get-togethers. He is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife Shirley; children LaNell (Steve) Coon, Allen (Hollie) Searle, Sheldon Searle, David (Ashlee) Searle, Richard (Leslie) Searle, Carlin Schofield, Charlotte (Tyler) White; 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; sister, Rosalie (Talmage) Ericksen. Funeral services will be held Monday February 25th at 11:00 a.m. in the historic Spring City chapel (164 South Main). Viewings will be held Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary in Mt. Pleasant and Monday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. preceding the services at the church. Interment in the Spring City cemetery with military honors.
