Victor Sevy Dykman was born in Panguich, Utah on May 16, 1940 to Artois Sevy Dykman and Alonzo LeGrande Dykman. He passed away on January 13, 2013 after a 21 month battle with cancer.
Victor graduated from Granite High School in 1958 then attended the University of Utah. He took a break from his studies and served an LDS mission to the Netherlands. He returned from his mission and graduated from the University of Utah in 1965. He married his wife, Diane Damjanovich in the Salt Lake LDS temple on August 23, 1965. His first job was in California where he and Diane had two daughters Jennifer and Melissa.
Victor worked as an auditor for the Utah State Tax Commission for 30 years. After his retirement, he was able to travel. He and Diane enjoyed traveling worldwide.
Victor loved his grandchildren. Before he passed away, he was concerned about getting education accounts set up for all of them. He shared his love of learning and reading with them. He took his grandkids on wonderful family vacations to California, Cancun and Hawaii. They will forever cherish these times with him.
Vic is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane, who lovingly and patiently took care of him until his passing. Also survived by, Melissa (Sander) Sharp of Gilbert, AZ and their five children Sarah, Rachael, Noah, Hannah and Hayley, son-in-law Cris (Bridgette) of Roosevelt, UT and their six children Nicholas, Treena, Paul, Danielle, Sophie, and Robert. His brothers and sisters-in-law Tom, Bob (Claudia) and DeeAnn.
Preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer, his brother Bill, his sister-in-law Nancy, his parents and step father and his mother and father-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday January 19 at the LDS Chapel at 607 E. Rocky Mouth Lane (14385 South). There will be a viewing on Friday at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 1950 E. 10600 So., from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
