Carl Vaughn Anderson Obituary
1958 ~ 2012
Carl Vaughn Anderson, 54, passed away on Monday from a broken heart at his home in West Valley City.
He was born February 6, 1958, in Kanab to Vaughn Reese and Ilene Robinson Anderson. He is survived by his son, Dustin Anderson; granddaughter, Linzi Anderson; mother, Ilene Anderson Deamer; sister, Connie and husband Hal Sorenson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eddie; his father, Vaughn; his wife Pamela Ann Fellows Anderson, and his adored wife Julie Schafer Anderson who passed away only four months ago - leaving him devastated.
Carl graduated from Kanab High School and attended classes at the University of Utah. He started working in the oil fields and on oil shale projects in Wyoming and Colorado. He married Wende Williams - later divorced. He worked as a power plant operator and as a control operator at the Horse Mesa Dam in Arizona. In 1995, he enrolled at the University of Arizona in Tucson and worked as a supervisor at the Steward Observatory Telescope where he trained operators and worked on the Hubble Telescope replacement mirror. His knowledge of the planets and stars awed his family. He decided his dream job with NASA wasn't in the cards, so he changed his major to Computer Sciences and moved back to Utah to help his newly widowed mother. He soon graduated from Southern Utah University with a degree in Computer Information Systems. He was currently employed as a Help Desk Technician at Unisys on a Microsoft Project where he enjoyed coaching others.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake, 460 West Century Drive. Friends may visit with the family 1 hour prior at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
