Ronald W. Adams Obituary
1949 ~ 2013
Ronald W. Adams died January 3, 2013, at the University of Utah Hospital. He passed away due to complications from surgery. Ronald was born May 30, 1949, in Salt Lake City to William E. Adams and Donna Ellsberry Adams. Ronald was preceded in death by his father William, who passed away in 1988. He is survived by his mother, his brother Brian, aunts Patricia Ann Christensen and Marguerite McDermott,and numerous cousins.
Ronald was a very happy, loving man with many interests in life. He collected nutcrackers, music tapes, and belt buckles. He loved television, traveling, meeting friends, going out to dinner, and time spent with his family. Ronald's mother and father, along with many remarkable visionary families, left an incredible legacy for their children with developmental disabilities. They worked tirelessly starting educational programs, advocacy groups, and group homes so their children and future generations could be actively involved in the community. On June 6, 1968, Ronald was one of the first eight students enrolled at Columbus Community Center, and he continued his career there for 44 years.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 7, 2013, at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South. Online guest book at www.evans-earlymortuary.com. The family wishes to thank all those who cared for Ronald at the University of Utah Hospital, St. Joseph Villa, and Columbus Community Center.
