Karma Burton Bissell Obituary
1934 ~ 2014
Murray, UT - Karma Burton Bissell peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father on February 8, 2014. She was born on January 27, 1934 to Clifford Peart Burton and Annie Selena Hanson Burton in Salt Lake City, Utah. After graduating from South High School, Karma attended LDS Business College. After college, she began her career at First Security Bank where she continued to work for over 30 years. She loved her career and had many lifelong friends. Karma married the love of her life, Lynn D Bissell, in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 16, 1956. She was very proud to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in her calling in the Sunday School organization. Karma's favorite pastimes were sewing, making ceramics and other arts and crafts and playing word games, but her favorite thing was spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Alfred, Arva, Marvin, Beulah, Ross, Eva, Vera, and Leo. She was survived by her siblings, Rhea, Dean (Donette) and Brent (Sharon); husband, Lynn; daughters, Linda McComb (Steve), and Brenda Cox (Michael); grandchildren, Taylor (Tammy), Garrett (Erica), Kenzie (Jared), Danielle (Jeff), Mallory (Trevor), Bailey, Colton, and Kaiden; great-grandchildren, Areah, Francois, Mason, Wesley, Paetyn, Lyncoln, Rylee, Breelyn, Austin, Braxton, Mason, Quinton, AinzLee, Jaxon, Houston, and Cooper.
Her life will be celebrated with a viewing on Wednesday, February 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State in Murray. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 13, 12 noon, with a viewing from 11:00 to 11:45 at the LDS church house at 5750 S. Nena Way. Burial will be in the Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery, 10600 S. 1700 E., Sandy.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the University of Utah Center for Alzheimer's Care, Imaging and Research.
