"Ozzie"
LeGrand Iver Iverson was born August 8, 1922, and he passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on February 12th. He was a hero to all of his children and was loved by all who knew him.
He served our country in the Army Air Corp from 1941 through 1945. He gave of himself in that capacity in the same manner he gave of himself in every endeavor in his life.
He worked as a Crane Operator with the Local Union 3, Operating Engineers and was a proud member for 50 years.
LeGrand is survived by his 8 children: Warren, Mike (Bev), Steve (LaRane), Denny (Shirley), Kraig (Kathy), Randy, Sharron Error, Jenny Young; 6 siblings: Reed Iverson, Hope Simar, Grace Holdaway, Gloria (Vern) Mechling, Beverly (Don) Bush and Joyce (Lawrence) Bussio; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and his loving dog, Fifi. He was married and divorced from Mary Rose. He is preceded in death by his wives, Mae Collins Iverson and Jennie Cutler Iverson, and a daughter-in-law, VeLynne.
Graveside services will be Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 10600 S. 1950 E., with a viewing from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street.
