Nancy Lou Topping Reichman Obituary
1933 - 2014
Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully in her home on February 12, 2014.
Nancy was born in Ogden, Utah on July 31, 1933 to Edwin and Maxine Topping. She and her brother Jim were raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and California. Nancy graduated from West High School and attended the University of Utah where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in June 1953. She met Owen Howard Reichman while at the University of Utah, and they were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 20, 1953.
Nancy and Howard welcomed seven children into their family. They lived in Utah, New York, Colorado, Illinois, and, for the last 18 years, Provo, Utah.
Nancy was a faithful and active member in the LDS Church. Her testimony of the gospel guided her throughout her life. She spent innumerable hours cheerfully serving those in her wards and neighborhoods in each place she lived. She served as a teacher and leader in the Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School, and Young Women. She loved serving in the Chicago and Provo temples.
She was happiest being with her family. She created many happy memories with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Owen Howard Reichman, MD; two daughters, Kathleen (Eric) Ericksen, Shirley (Steve) Ence; five sons, Howard (Marianne), Mark (Dawndi), Owen (Robin), Russell (Loydeen), and Doug (Christina); 32 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah. The funeral services will be held at the Provo Edgemont Stake Center, 303 West 3700 North, Provo, Utah, on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 12:00 noon, with a viewing prior from 10:00 to 11:30 am. Burial will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
