Murray, UT-Edward Hale 'Tedd" Tuttle, 86, passed away 15 Feb 2014 peacefully at his Murray home with his loved ones by his side. He was born 8 Jan 1928 in Logan, Utah to Edward R. Tuttle & Rachel Hale Tuttle. He was the 7th of 8 children. He married Dorothy Jean Gibson on 18 Mar 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. Tedd graduated from South High School, attended the University of Utah & Salt Lake Vocational School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946 and served in Germany. He was a Buick Salesman before becoming Boating & Off Road Recreation Vehicle Chief for Utah State Parks & Recreation to enforce safety laws. He believed in helping others "Have Fun Safely." While Boating Chief, he received many awards for his outstanding service. He belonged to many safety associations, was President of the Western States Boating Administrators, and a member of the Coast Guard Auxillary. Later in his career, he was Superintendent of Great Salt Lake State Park, Saltair Beach. He was involved in many rescues during storms on Great Salt Lake and other Lakes within the state of Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served as Home Teacher, Elders Quorum President, Ward Sunday School President, and Murray South Stake Sunday School Presidency. Tedd enjoyed participating in many summer and winter outdoor activities with his family. His family always said he could fix anything but he labeled himself a professional tinkerer. He was always actively engaged in designing and building a worthwhile project. He was co-owner of Tutts Pacs. He loved cruising with his family, dancing, & listening to music. He was an avid BYU fan traveling to their games at home and away for numerous years. He will be remembered for his radiant smile, witty humor, compassionate service to anyone & everyone even if it meant going out of his way. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; 7 children: Breck Tuttle (Linda); Arlane Chavez (Gene); Cheryl Bluth (Alex "Bobe"); Tawna Allen (Glen); Darran Tuttle (Julie); Troy Tuttle; Todd Tuttle (Charlotte); sister, Dorothy Griffiths (Nathan); brother, Gary Tuttle (Cindy); 33 Grandchildren; 32 Great Grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street, Murray, UT, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, 20 Feb. Funeral Services will be Friday, 21 Feb at Hillcrest Ward Chapel, 495 E 5600 S. Murray, UT at 11:00a.m., with a viewing prior to services from 9:30-10:30a.m. at the church.
