Lyla Kay Anderson Obituary
5/22/1934 ~ 2/25/2014
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was called home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Murray, Utah to loving parents, John Jones and Blanche Ringrose. She married John Ronald Anderson on September 12, 1952; in June of 1964, their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed 61 years together.
Mom loved life and brought happiness to all those around her. She had a way of cheering you up with her great sense of humor. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served in many church callings. She loved working with little kids around her and spent many years volunteering at the temple and at many schools in the Granite School District.
She is survived by her husband, John; their children, Jay (Jana) Anderson, Linda (Joe) Fisher, Rhonda (Rodger) Barnes and Sandy (Richard) Nicholls; son-in-law, Dennis North; 22 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren (with 2 more on the way!) Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Debbie North; and grandson, Johnathon Barnes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Jordan View Ward, 1165 West 2320 South. A viewing will be Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, and Monday morning at the church from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will be at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 S. Vine Street. "We love you and miss you, Mom"
