Nicole Petersen Jensen Obituary
Nicole Petersen Jensen
1974 ~ 2014
Draper, Utah-Nicole Petersen Jensen, age 39, was born June 17, 1974 in Salt Lake City Utah at LDS Hospital, and passed away in her home, in Draper, Utah on March 20, 2014. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend and was welcomed by her Heavenly Father with open arms.
Niki "baby siser", was the youngest of 5 siblings. She spent her childhood being teased and protected by her 3 older brothers. Her true hero and best pal was her Down's syndrome sister Marni. Marni referred to Niki as "Sissy Gik". Niki and Marni had a special bond and loved spending time together getting pedicures, getting their hair done, drinking a Diet Coke, and laughing till their bellies hurt.
Niki had a huge passion for music and often loved going to concerts to catch a glimpse at her favorite celebrity crushes. Niki was also extremely talented in dancing. She spent most of her youth trying to perfect her talents and abilities always wanting to progress and show others what she was capable of.
Niki grew up in Sandy Utah and graduated from Hillcrest High and later attended Salt Lake Community College.
Niki married Matthew Jensen on April 16, 1995, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and later divorced.
On July 2, 1996, she was blessed with the light of her life, her son, Coby James Jensen. Coby was Niki's "little buddy", always singing songs and writing each other love notes ending in "I love you more".
Niki had an unconditional love for her family, especially her mom. She was a huge help in caring for Marni and being there when her mom needed her most.
Niki had a special love for her 3 nieces Shantel, McKell, and Kayla. She loved giving them advice, letting them play with her hair, having sleepovers, and talking till all hours of the night.
Niki was employed by JAS Inc., IMC, and Alta View Hospital.
Niki was blessed with a colorful personality. Her smile lit up the room and her laugh was extremely contagious. She was always willing to do kind things for others and did whatever she could to lighten their loads. Niki made many friends along the way and shared her smile and laughter. She was very compassionate and felt deeply for others.
Her family and friends are extremely saddened by her sudden departure. She is loved greatly and remembered so fondly. Our hearts yearn to hold her, to laugh with her, and to cry with her.
We love you Niki and know that you were welcomed "home' by many loving arms. Please let your beautiful smile shine on us!
Niki is preceded in death by her older brother Brett MacKay Petersen.
Niki is survived by her son, Coby James Jensen, (Draper). Mother, Karen M. Petersen (Sandy). Father Robert G Petersen (Janet Petersen) (St. George). Brother, Clay Petersen (Kike Bradshaw) (Spring ,TX). Jeffery J. Petersen (Loni Petersen) (Sandy). Marni Petersen (Sandy).
