Luana Wiser Erickson|
1959 ~ 2014
Luana Wiser Erickson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 26, 2014 after a short illness.
Luana was born March 22, 1959 to Farrell and NaDene Kent Wiser, in Preston, Idaho. She spent her childhood years in Brigham City, and teenage years in Centerville, Utah. She graduated from Viewmont High school. She studied at Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho on an academic scholarship.
It was at Ricks she met her sweetheart Mark Erickson. Mark and Luana were married February 2, 1979, and sealed in the Logan LDS Temple one year later. They were blessed with six children; Matt (Jennifer) Erickson, Gina (Brandon) Gleed, David Erickson, Adam Erickson, Anna Erickson, and Stephen (Mychelle) Erickson.
Luana was a loving grandmother to Abby, Aniston, Colby, Jackson, Lyla, Michael, Braden and Kathleen. She loved teaching them and watching them grow. They gardened, cooked, sang at the piano, or just spent quiet time watching a movie together. Her children and grandchildren could always count on homemade cookies at grandma's house.
Cooking, baking, canning and gardening were things that brought Luana great joy and satisfaction. Children were a huge part of her life. Many little ones were blessed by her loving heart. Luana served as Primary Chorister for many years. She especially enjoyed this calling. Luana took music into the nursery at Primary. She enjoyed music of any kind, and singing in the ward choir. Working in her yard growing flowers was a special kind of therapy for Luana. She was a devoted friend, having a talent for making those around her feel special and unconditionally loved. Time spent with family was a priority. Planning a family trip to Jackson, Wyoming rafting the Snake River was a yearly event. She made sure no one ever went hungry. Everyone was invited to this much anticipated family tradition every year including many of her children's friends who also called her mom.
Luana is survived by her husband Mark, parents, children, and grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Sharon(Wes) Gold, Darla Wilmore, Doug(Sky) Wiser, Darren(Jennifer) Wiser, Ryan(Sarah) Wiser, and Clifton(Stephanie) Wiser, many Aunts and Uncles, and more than sixty first cousins who love and will miss her.
A viewing will be held at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, Utah, on Monday March 31, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM and at the Church April 1, 2014 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
