Elsie Hunt Obituary
Elsie Hunt
6/23/1923 ~ 4/2/2014
Elsie was born in 1923, grew up in Midvale, 1 of 9 children of German and Dutch immigrants. She learned to work hard, live honestly and modestly.
Love developed quickly with her late husband Deane while teaching a Sunday school class together. As their faith grew, so did their love for one another and they married in 1942. Immediately following their marriage, they lived in Arkansas while Deane served in the Army Air Corp. during WWII. Elsie and her family made their house a home in Murray from 1948 to 2010.
Elsie's hobbies included gardening - she was known for her delicious garden tomatoes. She loved to use her hands and hated to be idle. She worked for many years as a pediatric medical assistant and one of her passions was children. She has 4 children, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
She gave her children and grandchildren all she could and more. She accepted everyone she met as a friend, and gave all she had to those in need. She was always very generous with her time and help, when she committed to a cause she always saw it through. Her most cherished commitments were her family and having served as the Special Needs Mutual President for over twenty years.
Some of her grandchildren's fond memories include: sleepovers with potato and apple pancakes in the morning, Easter egg hunts in the backyard, picking fresh strawberries from the garden, an always full candy drawer and cookie jar, and Mrs. Santa Claus and bingo at Christmas.
A special thanks to Wentworth at Draper and Summit for the special care they gave our mother. Also to Bill and Craig for the loving care they gave her in her last years.
