Franklin Joseph Gray, Jr.|
Loving Husband & Father
Franklin Joseph Gray, Jr. returned to his Heavenly Father, Saturday, April 5, 2014, where he was greeted by his eternal companion, Joe Ann Tatton Gray.
He was born on December 30, 1929 in Los Angeles, California to Franklin Joseph Gray, Sr. and Marguerite Schulthess Gray. He married Joe Ann Tatton on June 10, 1950 in Manti, Utah, and was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Frank was a member of the Utah Air National Guard during the Korean War. He was employed with Mountain Bell Telephone Co. for 34 years and worked for 10 years as a United States Census Employee.
He was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a young man. He was an active and faithful member. Frank's life was spent focused on his family. He enjoyed playing golf, family games and celebrations, and spending time with them at the family cabins in Star Valley and Bear Lake. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and supported them in attending many events that they were involved in. He coached his sons Little League teams, and was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Utah Jazz and BYU Cougars. He left a legacy for his family of love and honor. His deep and everlasting love for Joe Ann will always remain an inspiration to his family. He taught us many of life's important lessons. He knew every car he ever bought, its year, model, and purchase price. His memory was one of a kind.
He was survived by his children, Joe (Kerry) Gray, John (Jerrilyn) Gray, Steve (Lorraine) Gray, Jennifer (Bill) Nehmer, 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and his sisters Carolyn Coles (J) and Ginger Gerlach (Palle). He was preceded in death by his wife Joe Ann and his infant son, Jordan Brent.
Special thanks and gratitude to Legacy of Utah, Retirement and Legacy House. Also thanks to Aspire Home Health and Hospice for Utah for their loving care of Dad.
