Elaine Spry Warner
1922 - 2014
Our dear mother and grandmother Elaine Spry Warner passed away April 11, 2014. She was born September 1, 1922 in Salt Lake City to Bertram Samuel Spry and Margaret McCLure Spry. Elaine was the younger sister of Margaret Spry (Ogden). She grew up in the Capitol Hill area of Salt Lake City and had many outdoor adventures in those hills. She attended West High School and the University of Utah prior to graduating from the Salt Lake County General Nursing Program as a registered nurse. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army overseas and continued to work as a registered nurse in many capacities throughout her life. She was a hard worker with a great work ethic . . . she was a lot of fun. She spread sunshine. Elaine was a faithful, active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and had a very strong testimony of its truthfulness. One of her life's greatest joys was her calling to serve as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. She has four children and is survived by three of them; Robert Bryce Warner (Lynette) of Glenwood, Catherine Farrell (Jim) of Yountville, California and Maureen Callister (Von) of Cottonwood Heights. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and thirty eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister and daughter Margaret Langman, also preceded in death by one great grandson. Services will be held Thursday April 17th at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, at 10:30 AM followed by interment at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
