Pauline Margaret Wubben

Obituary Condolences

July 5, 1923 ~ June 22, 2014
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great- and Great-great Grandmother, Pauline Margaret Wubben, died June 22, 2014, at the age of 90, in Midvale, Utah, surrounded by her family. She was a model of unconditional love and embraced all she met: Once you had a cup of coffee at her kitchen table, you were a member of the family for life. Pauline was born July 5, 1923 in Salt Lake City to Clarence and Margaret Middlemiss. She was one of five children and was proud to be a Granite High School "Farmer." She married Elmer Warren Johnson in 1942 and had three children. After Elmer's untimely passing, Pauline married Aloysius "Al" Bernard Wubben in 1953. They made their home in Midvale and raised six more children.
Pauline was the rock of the family. Endlessly giving, she ensured that the needs of her family were always met. Her zest for life was infectious. On Sundays after church, her grandchildren would scramble to her white Chevy Nova with hopes to "drag" State Street all the way back to her house. She relished in having visitors grace her home, which was the gathering place for many celebrations. "Scone Sunday" was legendary, drawing dozens of family and friends who would squeeze in anywhere they could.
Pauline is survived by her nine children: Paul "Butch" Johnson (Carol), Richard Johnson (Janet), Janet Perrick (Jim), Alma Camp (Ron), Patty Deslis, Alissa Maynard (Alan), Stephanie Wubben (Jerry), Ben Wubben (Rosa), Ann Bitter (Warren). She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Al, siblings Mary Ellen, Kay, Albert, and Larry, grandchildren Brian Johnson and Baby Angel Wubben.
Holy Rosary will be recited on Sunday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m. followed by calling hours from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, UT 84047. Liturgy of the Faithful Departed will take place on Monday, June 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church, 4900 South Wasatch St., Murray, UT 84107. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Maronite Catholic Church.
